The needs of our family have been very significant, but God has always been very faithful to meet our needs. Following is some information that I've pulled together to pray over our family's finances. There are many scriptures that have been turned into prayers or declarations. I pray they will also be a blessing to you.
The Power of Praying
for our Finances
(with scriptures or prayers/statements based on scriptures)
But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.
(Deuteronomy 8:18)
The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
(Proverbs 10:22)
Dear Lord, I desire to prosper in my finances so that I can be a greater blessing to the Kingdom of God. It is you, who gives me the ability to produce wealth. Your blessing brings wealth without trouble and I desire this blessing. Help me to walk in your ways. In Jesus name, Amen.

Following are scriptures that have been turned into prayers on each of the above topics:
1) Trusting God/Resting in Him
My God will meet all my needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
You are my shepherd, I shall not be in want (Psalms 23:1)
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for I will enter God’s rest and rest from my own work, just as God did from his. I will make every effort to enter that rest, so that I will not fall by following those who are disobedient. (Hebrew4:9-11)
I cry out to You Lord to teach me how to do this and help me to remember to rest in You.
2) Asking with Good Motives
according to God's will.
Jesus, You told me the truth, that my Father will give me whatever I ask in Your name. Help me remember to ask, then I will receive, and my joy will be complete. (John 16:23-24)
I will not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, I will present my requests to You, God. And Your peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:6-7)
Jesus, help me remain in You and Your words to remain in me, then I can ask whatever I wish, and it will be given to me. This is to my Father's glory, that I bear much fruit, showing myself to be a disciple of Jesus... (John 15:7-8)
Help me have faith in You, God, and not doubt in my heart but believe that what I say will happen, and it will be done for me and that whatever I ask for in prayer, I will believe that I have received it, and it will be mine (Mark 11:22-24). Please increase my faith.
Help me to remember to ask, then I will have what I asked for. When I ask, help my motives to be right and that I spend what I receive in ways that please You. (opposite of James 4:2-3)
Let my heart not condemn me, so I will have confidence before God and receive from him anything I ask, because I obey his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.
(1John 3:21-23)
Now to God who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within me, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Eph 3:20)
This is the confidence I have in approaching God: that if I ask anything according to Your will, You hear me. And if I know that You hear me-whatever I ask-I know that I have what I asked of You. (1 John 5:14-15)
How to Ask according to God's will
1) God's word is His will. (Help me to anchor my faith in your word, find scriptures that address my situration and pray them, and renew my mind in your word)
2) The Holy Spirit always prays according to the will of God. *(help me remember to pray in the Spirit)*
The Holy Spirit also edifies me and builds me up in my most holy faith.
(1 Cor 14:4, Jude 1:20)
And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
(Romans 8:27)
Romans 12:2 I will not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of my mind. Then I will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.
(The Following section is paraphrased from Gary Keesee teaching “Your Financial Revolution“)
I have a job to do in my Father’s kingdom. God will provide all I need to accomplish the job He has for me as I ask Him for it.
In Mark 8, Jesus asked the disciples “How many loaves of bread do you have?” and they gave him what they had and Jesus praised God and gave thanks and asked Him (Father) to bless them. Jesus asked for something they had. At that point, Jesus blessed it and it changed kingdoms from the earthly kingdom to the kingdom of heaven where it could be multiplied to meet their needs. The needs of the people were met and there were seven baskets leftover. Ask yourself “What do I have right now that I can give, that God can multiply to meet my need?” Ask God to reveal it.
God, will You please show me what I have in my possession (possessions, gifts, talents) that I can offer to You that You can bless and multiply to meet my needs. Jesus, please multiply what I have so that it will be more than enough to meet my needs and plenty left to use for kingdom purposes. Thank You, Father that it is Your will to meet my needs. I have need of this__________. Thank you that I have what I have asked you for and look forward to receiving it.
3. Sowing & Reaping (Cheerfully)
If I sow sparingly, I will also reap sparingly, and if I sow generously, I will also reap generously. (2 Cor 9:6) Help me choose to sow generously and then I will reap generously
I will reap what I sow (Galatians 6:7). Father, will You please show me what to sow.
I have given and will continue to give and it will be given to me. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into my lap. For with the measure I use, it will be measured to me. (Luke 6:38)
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. (2 Cor 9:10-11)
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9:7) Help me to be a cheerful giver.
God, please show me what I have right now to sow into the Kingdom of Heaven trusting that You will show me where the harvest is. I eagerly anticipate the harvest because then I will have more to sow into the Kingdom. I must remember to be patient and not to expect an instant harvest. (Paraphrased from Gary Keesee Teaching “Your Financial Revolution“)
4) Tithing & Giving Offerings
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty. "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the LORD Almighty. (Malachi 3:10-12)
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices-mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law-justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. (Matthew 23:23)
5) Humility & Fear of the Lord
Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life. (Proverbs 22:4)
The LORD sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.
(1Samuel 2:7)
Thank you Lord that You guide the humble in what is right and teach them Your way, You sustain the humble, and You give grace to the humble (Psalm 25:9, Psalm 147:6, Proverbs 3:34) Help me to humble myself.
Help me to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility I will consider others better than myself. (Phil 2:3)
Help me to be humble and contrite in spirit, and tremble at Your word because those are whom You esteem. (Isaiah 66:2)
Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil. Better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred. (Proverbs 15:16-17)
6) Generosity
One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
(Proverb 11:24-25)
A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. (Proverbs 22:9)
7) Faithfulness
A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished. (Proverbs 28:20)
Help me to be faithful with the “talents” you have given me. As I am faithful, you will add more to what I have. (Matthew 25:14-30)
8) Wisdom & Understanding
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who cherishes understanding prospers. (Proverbs 19:8)
Lord I pray for wisdom & understanding.
I love those who love me (wisdom), and those who seek me find me (wisdom). With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full. (Proverbs 8:17-21)
Let me be wise and understanding. Let me show it by a good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom… the wisdom that comes from heaven that is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (James 3:13, 17)
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him (James 1:5)
In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. (Proverbs 21:20) Help me not to devour all I have.
9) Seeking First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness
He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. (Proverbs 21:21)
Help me pursue righteousness & love.
"I can’t serve two masters. Either I will hate the one and love the other, or I will be devoted to the one and despise the other. I cannot serve both God and Money. (Matthew 6:24) Help me make right choices.
Through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. (Rom 8:2) (Just like the law of gravity is superseded by the Law of Lift)
I will not set my heart on what I will eat or drink; I will not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and You my Father, know that I need them. I will seek first Your kingdom, and all these things will be given to me as well. (Luke 12:29-31)
10) Confessing & Renouncing Sin
He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. (Proverbs 28:13) Help me to be aware of my sins and confess & renounce them.
11) Diligence & Hard Work
I will not have lazy hands that make a man poor, but diligent hands that bring wealth. (Proverbs 10:4)
He who loves pleasure will become poor; whoever loves wine and oil will never be rich. (Proverbs 21:17) Help me to love You God more than I love pleasure.
The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. (Proverbs 21:5)
Help me be diligent and to plan and not be hasty.
12) Meditating Day on God's Word
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8)
Help me remember to talk to You about Your Word and ask questions when I don't understand it. Help me think about what it means and how to apply it to my life. Teach me what You want me to learn as I think about what I'm reading.
13) Giving to the Poor
He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done. (Proverbs 19:17)
He who increases his wealth by exorbitant interest amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor. (Proverbs 28:8)
He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses. (Proverbs 28:27)
14) Following God's Instructions
The LORD will make me the head, not the tail. If I pay attention to the commands of the LORD my God this day and carefully follow them, I will always be at the top, never at the bottom. (Deut. 28:13)
Follow the instructions of the Holy Spirit. Listen for divine ideas of what to do, where the provision is, open doors, revelation, creative insight, & concepts. Ask God to remind you of things you have forgotten, things to change, places to go, etc. God’s system is to “go catch it, go get it” (not wait for it to come in the mailbox)
ex: Israel there is the land go get it, Disciples cast your net on the other side of the boat. If we don’t put our hand to anything, we won’t be blessed. It’s usually not going to just show up in the mailbox (unless perhaps it’s ministry related). (Paraphrased from Gary Keesee Teaching “Your Financial Revolution”)
15) Seeking Godly Counsel
But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, "First seek the counsel of the LORD." (2 Chronicles 8:4)
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. (Psalm 1:1)
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. (Proverbs 15:22)
All this also comes from the LORD Almighty, wonderful in counsel and magnificent in wisdom. (Isaiah 28:29)
For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure. (Proverbs 11:14)
16) Remembering my Inheritance
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. (2 Cor 1:20)
I belong to Christ, and so I am Abraham's seed, and an heir according to the promise. (Gal 3:29)
I am a child of God so I am an heir-an heir of God and a co-heir with Christ, if indeed I share in his sufferings in order that I may also share in his glory. (Rom 8:17)
Thank You Father that You have qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For You have rescued me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into the kingdom of the Son You love, in whom I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Col 1:12-14)
Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law (sin, sickness, & poverty) by becoming a curse for me (Galatians 3:13, Deuteronomy 28:15-68)
When Adam fell, the ground was cursed. This was a result of the absence of God’s goodness & life. Part of the curse is that there would be sweat of the brow and painful toil. Thank you Jesus that you have set me free from the curse of the law and brought me back into the provision of God that Adam walked in. Holy Spirit, please help me to learn to walk in this kind of provision. (Paraphrased from Gary Keesee Teaching “Your Financial Revolution“)
There is already wealth in Your kingdom. The promises are mine. I just need to make a withdrawal on my inheritance. (Paraphrased from Gary Keesee Teaching “Your Financial Revolution”
Now to God who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within me, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Eph 3:20)
