My tongue is a small part of my body, but it has the potential to make great boasts. Help me to remember what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.  Help me to use self control when I speak so that I don’t start a fire with my words.  My tongue has the power to steer the course of my life.  Help me use it in ways that are good.  Only You can help me to tame my tongue.

  Lord, I love life and want to see good days.  Help to keep my tongue from evil and my lips from deceitful speech.

Let me not love just with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
