Prayers to Grow in Faith

(and the scriptures they are based on)

1) Faith comes from Jesus

Thank you Jesus that my faith comes from You.  You are the author and perfecter of my faith and you began a good work in me and You will complete it. By faith in Your name I can be strengthened. You are at work in me giving me the desire and the power to do what pleases You. Thank you that my faith can rest on Your power not on my abilities.

Acts 3:16

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for
the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Philippians 2:13
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Philippians 1:6
I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].

2) Faith comes from hearing

Lord, help me to hear your message in a way that makes it come alive to me personally and to know that you are talking to me because faith comes from hearing from You.

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

3) My faith can be strenthened

Thank you that You are faithful and will strengthen and protect me from the evil one.   Help me remember to pray in the spirit to build myself up in the most holy faith.
